Here's also an experience you may want to pass on. When my daughter died a counselor suggested that we make a memory jar, which at first I thought was silly, but figured we would give it a try, as we would think of Allison and something she did or said we would write it down and put it in the jar. Once a month my sons and I would gather and we would each take turns reading a slip of paper. These little slips of memories were usually funny and we enjoyed celebrating Allison's life together. We did this for about a year and it seemed to help us through some of our grief.
